You guys, get a bread machine if you do not have one! Save up your Swagbucks and buy one if your on a tight budget. It will make some incredible bread. Plus, if your schedule is cra cra (was I trying to hard there?), it's a great way to make homemade bread without spending a ton of time on it.

Today, I'm going to share with you my banana bread recipe.

A little secret about me, if I find something I like to eat, I could eat it every day for weeks on end. My husband, on the other hand, not so much. Regardless, we have had an insane amount of banana bread the past couple of weeks.

And that is why, folks. Looks at that. It's ok, we can pause for a minute while you get your self a hankie and wipe that drool running down your face off.

Alright, so here is how to make this bad boy.

Banana Bread in a Bread Machine

Ingredients:

·      2 eggs
·      1/3 cup butter – cold and sliced
·      1/8 cup milk
·      3 bananas – sliced
·      1- 1/3 cup flour
·      2/3 cup sugar
·      1 – ¼ teaspoon baking powder
·      ½ teaspoon baking soda
·      ½ teaspoon salt

1.     Put all ingredients into the bread machine, in order. Make sure your butter is cold and thinly sliced. Also, thinly slice your bananas.
2.     Use the quick bread setting for your machine. Scrape the flour off the sides, as to make sure it mixes well, while the machine is mixing everything. Once it is done mixing, let the machine do the rest.
Recipe adapted from about food.

That's it! Only making my point clearer as to why you need a bread machine. And yes, this bread is just as moist as it looks.

Now go make yourself some and slap some butter on it.

Real butter.

Always, real butter.

Week in the Life Part 2

Welcome back to part 2 of my Week in the Life.

This weekend was not a normal weekend for us. My folks came to town to celebrate Princess's birthday. I honestly did not take near as many pictures as I thought I would have. I love having our home full of family; it's loud, chaotic and the kiddos are always extra rambunctious. Visiting family, just doesn't happen enough.

Here is a glimpse of our weekend:

What? You don't count the Amazon boxes as gift wrap?
The joy of jumping on these things, after opening the Amazon boxes.

We took Princess to the science museum for her birthday.
It made for a great family photo opportunity.

Baby wearing for the win! Falcon slept the whole time we were there.

They got to experience an 80 mph wind tunnel.

Grandma knows just how to calm Falcon down.

I love this crazy kid! I just can't believe she is so old.

Thanks for joining me on this week in the life challenge. I can't wait to do it again next year! Stay tuned this week, I'll be posting my favorite banana bread recipe.

Week in the Life Part 1

You guys, I have taken SO many photos this week. I won't share them all because that would take forever! Ali Edwards Week in the Life challenge has been fun, but I don't think I could do this every week! I'm looking forward to looking back at these photos in a few years just to see how daily life was. I decided to put up my phone and haul out my big camera for this challenge. It's just so easy to use my phone for pictures, but I desperately want to get better at taking pictures.

Part of the challenge was to include yourself in the photos. The timer setting comes in handy. Many of us (especially moms) are so use to being behind the camera. Our babies NEED to see us in pictures with them. So I accepted the challenge, as awkward as it was, and I tried to include myself in as many pictures as possible.

Sunday, the week in the life challenge will be over. I plan on putting all my photos in a nice Shutterfly 8x8 photo book to look back on.

TIP: I collect bing rewards to get free 8x8 hardcover photo albums from Shutterfly.

Just out of privacy for my kiddos I have given them nicknames, well they game themselves nicknames. My daughter will be referred to as Princess, my oldest son Optimus Prime and our youngest will be Falcon. Yep.

We kick off the mornings with the wonder of the day. I found this site called Wonderopolis and my kiddos just love it!

Princess volunteers to make us all lunch a few times a week.

If the hubs ever has free time, he usually tries to spend it creating something.

The kiddos play a couple rounds of Go Fish while I tidy up.

This was their "let's dump out all the craft stuff and make robots!" afternoon craft.

Princess absolutely loves to help Optimus with his workbook.
Picture
Falcon just hangs out while we work, gets fussy, eats and then sleeps.
Picture
Since we are doing a nature study on birds this month, it only made sense to go to a butterfly exhibit. Right?
Picture
The hubs started up his fall semester. 21 hours. He is determined to get things done.
Picture
I'm currently obsessed with making banana bread. I have been tweaking it the past few weeks and think I've nailed it, maybe. It's ridiculously fantastic and will make you want to slap your mama.
Picture
We sure did eat that banana bread with a weeks worth of clean laundry.
Picture
Dog pile on Optimus. If the hubs isn't careful he will be the one at the bottom of dog piles when the kiddos get older.
Picture
They love that they can get ice water for themselves now. I love it too.
Picture
Friday nights are our pizza/Shark Tank nights, or some form of pizza. Optimus fell asleep so Princess got to make the whole pizza by herself. No Shark Tank tonight, we watched Mighty Morphing Power Rangers on Amazon instead. So many memories of that show.
Picture
There was one moment I wish I would have gotten a picture of. The hubs and I were sitting in the chairs in our living room and my daughter comes in and says "look". I glance over and didn't think about what I just saw. So, she said "mom, look!". I looked and stared a bit and realized our chicken was in the living room with us! Ha! She some how wondered into the house. I'm thinking some little transformer, that shall remain nameless, left the door open. My hubby and I both freaked out and got her back outside. It was one of those "that was funny, but I'm glad she didn't poop in the house, and let's never let that happen again" moments.

I'll wrap up my week in the life with all of you on Monday. Have you ever documented the daily tasks during a week in your life? Share your link in the comments if you did this time around!

Have a great weekend!

Your pal,
Chelsey

Good morning everyone!

I am so excited to start blogging again! It has been years since I have done this on a regular basis. To start out, I am going to be following along Ali Edwards Week in the Life. You should join us or go check out what it's all about! I'll update my project every couple of days to show you what I have completed.

This is our first official year of homeschooling, thus driving my motivation to start this blog. It will serve as a recap of our weeks for our end of the year portfolio projects. I will also be blogging about food and some of my favorite recipes I have altered. My photography might be a bit sketchy in the beginning, but I'm learning. You must also know, I dabble in many hobbies and crafts. Warning: Some of them will appear on here.

I hope you will join me on this lovely journey called life (oh that was cheesy, I'm so sorry). Plus, I hope you will laugh with me on my Pinterest fails.

It's not me, its the recipe, I swear.

Your pal,
Chelsey

Hey there! Thanks for dropping by. Contrary to the name, I do not live in a hobbit hole, I just adore them. I am a Web Designer and a homeschooling mama of four that loves to cook and follow whatever path pops in front of me. Won't you join me on this adventure?
